We believe aging is a disease and that age related diseases are largely due to poor diet. Poor diet frequesntly due to an excess of empty calories.

It’s well established that caloric restriction can extend life and prevent disease in animals (including mammals). The trick is caloric restriction while maintaining proper nutrition.

We live in exciting times with advances in aging studies accelarating everyday. Interestingly though the FDA does not recognize aging as a disease. So don’t expect medicine any time soon that will make you immortal.

However, with the proper diet and supplementation you can certainly improve healthspan and hit your ideal weight. We don’t promote any diet plans and try to avoid fads wherever possible. We’re about information and common sense.

Eat as many fruit and vegetables as possible, exercise, and don’t consume excess calories. Eat real food. Nutritious food.

Beyond that we believe studies have shown (ad nauseam) that intermitent fasting and caloric restriction to be hugely beneficial. For this reason our main page is dedicated to highlighting the many press releases describing this in great detail. We believe in information.

We also believe that NAD precursors like Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) and Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) optimize your health on a cellular level. And that other Sirtuin activators such as Fisetin, Resveratrol, and Pterostilbene work synergistically to repair DNA damage.

As scientists continue to unravel the mysteries of aging it’s becoming increasingly clear that the primary benefit of intermitent fasting and caloric restriction is that your body is doing it’s best cellular repair during this time.

Because NAD Precursors such as NMN, NR, Fisetin, Resveratrol, and Pterostilbene mimic caloric restriction we believe they are hugley important supplements regardless if your lifestyle and / or diet is ideal. However if you are practicing a caloric restriction lifestyle they are even more powerful. And they make any fasting or caloric restrictive diet easier.

Again, we believe the optimum diet is primarily fruits and vegetables but we certainly aren’t vegetarians. Protein is all good and part of a nutritious diet. The point is making those calories count. Eat nutritious food. If you couple that with intermittent fasting and optimal supplementation you will maximize healthspan.

It’s worth mentioning that although we think Sirtfood is interesting and that these foods are a good addition to any diet, we feel it important to reiterate that we don’t subscribe to any diet plan including the Sirtfood diet.

Eat Less. Fast More. Live Better.
